Nancy Mims

The spring air is creeping in and the humidity is still at bay. What better time then now to have an open aired gallery. That is exactly what Nancy Mims did.  I was
on my way with pup in tow to catch the sunset on the boardwalk, when a dozen linen sheets suspended from the out stretched branches of the old oak trees flapped in the wind. It sharply flagged me into a small and charming detour.

After a few oo's and aww's I located Nancy Mims herself.   Her subject matter were pick up along her many walks in her Austin neighborhoods.  The original idea was more of a traditional gallery show. Her first run of prints didn't complete the project for her. Her background in textile allowed this project to blossom and she used a linen cloth. As it hung to dry outside, the wind picked up and danced with the cloth, in that moment, she new this project was desisted to be shown outside.

Each piece on display has a unique structure, design, color scheme, and beauty. Nancy wanted to bring back the beauty. Nancy is always up to something eye catching and inspiring. Make sure to visit her website for more on Nancy Mims.  Stumbling upon this beautiful gallery has really put me in the spring spirit.
