Lonestar Round Up Spring 2016

We checked out the Lonestar Round Up last weekend. The auto show took place in Austin at the Travis County Convention Center. All vehicles were form 1963 or earlier. Oh man did, these beauties have aged with grace and lets be
honest, they never lost their style.  A large variety from pick up trucks, muscle cars, rot rods, and on timing classic sit for a drive-in movie.

Move over Red Flyers, there's a new ride in town.

Of course, not all the rides were freshly waxed and polished. Some prefer to let time take the wheel. Rust chipping away at the paint is a slow process, hardly noticeable from day to day. Fast forward a few decades and you have the beauty of rat rods. A few of the cars were for sale during the show. When one car crew finally sold the car below, you can sense the emotional attachment built up from the long hours of assembling parts together. It's a prime example of our art is not always a clean up, nicely polished piece. Sometimes its more about the work put into the project, the time spent watching a vision transform into reality that really makes anything a piece of art.

The cars weren't the only ones with style. I caught a few fashionable woman really working the 1950's & 60's style.

Of course my personal favorite, them wide legged sailor pants. A+.

Of course its not just about the paint job or , the details are what bring the whole thing together and sets a part the cool rides from the truly unique.

This car had a jet engine (literally!)

Thanks for bringing all these beauties into one place. Until next year..Voom voom.
