Dr. Dog and Shakey Graves at Stubb's

Shakey Graves and Dr. Dog took turns headlining  during a two night stay at Stubb's April 8th and 9th. Art is Hard TX was at the Friday night sold out show.

Son Little

As the sun began to set, Son Little took the stage at Stubb's Outdoor. Signed to ANTI- his sound is a mix between soft blues and soulful rock and
roll. Lay Down and The River  are his top tracks on Spotify and for good reason. It has all the right elements of a good song, strong vocals paired with a soothing guitar, perfect for a summer night get together.  Son Little has worked with  RJD2  under his government name Aaron Livingston on the album The Abandoned Lullaby.  Keep Son Little on your radar and check out his bandcamp to help get your though those Office Monday Blues and into the weekend full of adventures.

Dr. Dog

I first caught Dr. Dog in concert back in 2011. The whole experience was by chance. I flipped on the radio, through my car speakers the DJ announced to be the 10th caller to win tickets. It was a why not moment. I didn't even know what the tickets were for. So it was a big surprise when the voice on the other end of the line proclaimed me the winner. It sounded like a recording, I almost hung up when he said HELLO??

And I said hello to a band that really puts on a good show. Their presence on stage is full throttle from the get go. You can hear the 60's era influence their sound. Their most recent album, Psychedelic Swamp, was released in February 2016 under ANTI- Record Label. Go ahead and give it a listen, and you just might find this years Summers anthem.

Shakey Graves

Alejandro Rose-Garcia better known as Shakey Graves has returned to his hometown of Austin, Texas for a sold out show. The sky was slightly over castes and the Spring breeze shifted through the crowd. Despite the plethora of instruments on stage he walks on solo. The crowd erupts in cheers, giving Shakey Graves a warm welcome home. Its almost expected though considering the mayor of Austin proclaimed February 9th "Shakey Graves Day."

During a few minor technical  difficulties he took the time to thank the crowd and share a few jokes. Shakey Graves started as a one man band and over time he collaborated with additional artists to record and preform live.

The mix between blues, soul, and rock &roll make it hard not to move your feet. Bring his CD's on your next road trip across Texas, with the windows rolled down, and its sure to make for some solid long lasting memories.

Music can touch the soul, and what better way to show then with a smile form ear to ear.
Thanks Shakey Graves, keep the tunes coming.
