Chicago and the ART being created in the rubble of it's dangerous streets is truly inspiring.
I always wanted to write a piece on Twista and Chance the Rapper never leaving their roots, always supporting and promoting the young music coming out right now with both mentors heavily doing collabs or features for days on tracks by
Joey Purp, Alex Wiley ,
Sunny Woods, Mick Jenkins and plenty more.
But then
this happened with Jeremih.
So I'll take it, with less then ten days left in 2016.
This year gave us new amazing
albums/mixtapes by all the people
I just mentioned above,
the most popular and most
critically acclaimed/mainstream being Chance the Rappers' Coloring Book.
So it came as a surprise to a lot of people when this dropped last night.
Chance not needing anymore spotlight, but the light still shines on artist that can't be contained. So here's his release,
his collab with Jeremih and the gifts they give us with this mixtape is just amazing.
These songs aren't stocking stuffers
but shiny beautiful presents begging to be unwrapped every time you listen.
:Standouts as of right now:
As you can see these are four songs out of the nine that are on the mixtape
And I could have put all of them as the standouts
since they're all so new to me right now,
so please just listen to the whole thing and take in 2016 one last time.
-Sam.
