I had stopped writing for a long time. I couldn't quite handle all that was going on around me.
From my own personal demons judging me and devaluing
my feelings, to all the wrong words
and thoughts attached to
the social dialogue on these shootings and mishandling of life in general for people of color in America.
The divide is still alive and well in
this country.
But I still have to write before I drown in myself.
So to start it off I'll share this small playlist of songs that I've been hearing for a long while now
and these songs/pieces of art stick out with all the personal mixtapes/playlists I make myself.
I didn't go out and find these songs with social issues
attached to their lyrics,
it's just a fact that art and outreach will always go hand in hand always.
