Everything is circular it seems.
Always coming back around again over and over,
and it doesn't matter what I'm talking about,
everything just seems like it does.
While EMO from the 2000s is picking up dust and getting into everybody's nostrils, I remember the first time listening to EndSerenading and realizing how influential they were to all these bands I used to listen to in the early 2000s.
Memories of
local show after local show,
swaying, and sweating
and dancing and sweating
and trying to sing along to long drawls
that were indistinguishable but felt powerful enough to cry along too, engulfed me, gave me
life.
.
And we were all touched by different bands that all crossed paths but the fact that this band was 5 hours north of me, residing in Austin, TX played a big part of what I was listening to in my youth driven years of South Texas circa 2000-2006
Mineral released
The Power of Failing
in 96'
and followed that up with one of my favorite albums
EndingSeranading
in 98'.
And the arguments of which EMO band came first are up in the air now,
liken to the
WHICH CAME FIRST?
THE CHICKEN
or
THE EGG
(it was the egg btw)
But I won't be bothered by these questions or answers muddled in opinion.
The only problem I have is that PARKING LOT is on their 1st album and not their 2nd.

:: edit notes:
this was my first go at trying to write this, didn't go over so well...
Mineral came late to me, like everything in a pre highspeed internet time where Austin was over 5 hours away but music & movies seemed to find themselves about 8 years too late along the border towns where I grew up.
